It's like comparing the "menu system" on MS Windows and Nokia 3310. |

That isnt a comparison, why didnt they compare the 7650 to a P800, then see what they would have picked!!!!!! Nokia is just like MS they use there wait to get what they want... I wouldnt mind them Filing for Bankruptcy!!!!!! |

They tested the usability of the phones, and 7650 won. The menu system is not all. Laffen exagerates quite a bit
I think the result is predictable in the sense that the 7650 is a proper imaging phone (designed as such), while T68i isn't.
Anyway, we can argue a long long time whether the test is fair or not. But given the comparisons made in this forum between the two, I guess it's fair anyway
Though note that all users would have bought T68i if they hadn't tried the phones first. |

Agreed you can't compare menus or operating systems. You can however compare results! Both hansets are being pitched with photography being the latest technology so let's compare like for like on the 7650 v t68i debate.
Check out the link below for a direct comparison of photos taken from a T68i & 7650.

gsmwraith: you haven't got the point I guess.
P800 is not available. The study is made on what is currently available on the market.
And may I remind you that a number of comparisons have been made comparing T68i and 7650 in this very forum, and nobody cared as long as everybody was saying that T68i wins! But now that an objective study has been done and the result is not in-line with your thoughts, you're not happy. This is rather hypocrit, isn't it. |

@ frankie: the test made by this 3Glab whatever is as far as I understand not comparing picture quality, but the ease-of-use of these phones wrt imaging. These phones are not meant to be digital cameras, they are meant to snap some moments of your life and send them as mms to others. Not, to make photo exhibits. While the pics remain on a phone screen, honestly there's hardly any difference. Picture-quality wise, I agree, MCA-20 (not T68i!!!) wins far ahead. Now if you want to compare picture quality (that's what you're aiming at, aren't you) then let's compare them vs digital cameras... They're both crap. I stick to my ixus But this is non-sense. |

Another comparison, made by an independent Swedish newspaper.
They've compared the usability, quality and "fun factor" of the cams,
and 7650 was better.

It's in Swedish, but the pics and the points given are there. |

Super G.
I agree the handsets are primarily phones but the fact that they can take pictures is a major selling point & is being used as the main marketing campaign for the phones.
My main reason for disliking the 7650 is the size of the thing. I had 2nd thoughts about buying my t68i as it's bigger than my Nokia 8850 & 8310 but the nokia 7650 is just way too big.
With a t68i you can carry it in your pocket & as you point out take fun snaps while you're out & about without any problems. Can you say the same for the 7650? I doubt it cos you need damn big pockets to even consider it!
If I'm right the upcoming handsets are similar in size to the 7650 & I personally think that a lot of people won't buy them due to the simple fact that they are too big.

I think this really comes down to the old Mac/Wondows thing. Just cos I prefer Windows (or Nokia for that matter) doesn't mean they're better. I guess the best test would be on a totally impartial audience who'd never used a phone before.
And I bet Nokia would win
PS listened to a Nokia 8310 (or whatever it is) radio the other day, and it's absolutely no comparison to the Ericsson one. It has channel memory, superb sound quality, and looks cool. OK, so the Ericsson one's coming out soon, but a bit too late... |

Oh come on, the only diff?! You cannot install any new SW into your T68i and that is a really really big difference. There is a video recording software available, games, web browser etc. for the 7650 (or the 3650).
