I remember a few years back when I had a SE T610, my BT headset (Jabra) and the handset would only initiate a BT session if there was an incoming or outgoing call in the process.

However nowadays using a K750 and a HBH-608 despite having selected "Power-save" to state ON, the session remains active all the time, regardless of a call or no activity. I hate to ask the obvious here, but won't that drain the battery much faster than the old-school method?

In my understanding 'Power save' mode means that only one device can be connected at time, so possibly only one BT port is open and in your case it's your headset. It shouldn't drain the battery. I'm in same situation and didn't notice that battery drains faster than in 'Power save OFF' state.

Well...what i describe here is a different issue I suppose...Whereas I have no objection in the headset being continuously connected, I have indeed ran into scenarios where that causes the device to freeze requiring a restart alltogether by removing the battery etc. This happens when I initiate a file transfer from the phone to the computer, where the phone presumably tries to disconnect from the headset, connects to the computer and in the process it just hangs...Havoc. So why would the headset require continuous connection to the phone, since it obviously doesn't work as it was meant to be...
