k750i vs w800i |

Hey guys.
Well basically i'm returning my faulty k750i to get a replacement, and am seriously considering chucking an extra 100 bucks in on top to upgrade to a w800i.
The only thing that puts me off, is the look of the phone. I'm not a huge fan of the white front and back, although I dont mind the orange side bit. I also prefer the slider at the back of the k750 to the little shutter thing on the w800.
As far as im aware, the phone housings are interchangable? Therefore if I did get a w800i, I could swap a k750 housing over? Is it possible to keep the orange side bit, and combine that with the front and rear of the k750?
And lastly, is it worth the upgrade? From what i've read, the only differences are the flight mode, and a better media player. Also heard some who say the camera is slightly better, but nothing confirmed.
So what do you guys think I should do?

Camera is the same, everything is the same apart from flight mode and different media player.
TBH its probably cheaper to get your replacement k750 and get w800 housing.. and yes you can mix and match the various covers. |

Doesn't the w800i also have a better (i.e. more stable? less bugs) firmware?
Also, do they get the dust under the screen problems that the k700 - k750 get? Havent heard of it so far...
I just dont want to end up with more problems the same as i'm having now...

Hrmm, interesting.
Might pay for me to do a little research aye.
In the meantime, does anyone else have any opinions on this?
And also, what about the dust under screen problem? Does the w800i get this? I just had to open my k750i yesterday to get the dust out, what a hassle!

Oh well, i guess every phone has its own quirks. You'll never know for sure till you use it eh? Do you already have a high-capacity memory card? Cos i think the w800 comes with one that's higher than the k750. So that might make the extra 100 bucks worth it.

Yeah the w800 comes with a 512mb stick while the k750 only comes with a 64mb.
I already have a 1gb stick though

The covers between the two phones are definately interchangeable - I've got a K750i which has had the W800i firmware put on it (so it's basically a W8!), it has the W800 orange middle chassis, and K750i front and back covers (and joystick) on it.
Looks pretty good too!

Do you have a digi cam?
Is it possible you could take a photo of your phone for me? Thats exactly what I want to do, except i'd want a w800i with front and back k750i covers with a w800 middle bit.
I've heard if you flash the k750 to w800 firmware, you cant update it anymore from then. Kinda puts me off, think i'll just buy a w800 and do the cover swap.
Reckon that would look real good.
Pics pleeease??

Here you go, it's a pic showing more the multicoloured backlight (don't ask me how it was done, not me that did it!), but you can just see the orange chassis.
Will try to take some clearer pictures later today
Yes, I'd heard you possibly couldn't update the firmware, will have to try when there's anothe software update available!

My W800 has few dust particles that managed to get under the screen . . . Even if I always had a silicone case AND a phone pouch on the phone after using it.
The dust are barely noticeable though. I can only see them clearly when there's a strong light around (e.g., when I'm outside on broad daylight). |

Ah damn, hope SE get this problem sorted soon on the future release models.
Yeah my k750 wasnt even readable in the sun until the dust was removed.
