Hi. I have recently purchased a Sony Ericsson W550i. I love it to death, but I'm having a few troubles with it at the moment and I was wondering if you guys could help me.

Firstly. After I installed the software there was 2 ways of transfering files from my PC to my phone through the USB Data Cable that I found.

When I connected the data cable to the phone, a message on my phone came up and it had 2 choices, I went with File Transfer or something but I knew it was the correct choice.

After doing that, It came up with a list of things. To play the files, burn the files, open files in a folder etc. I chose to open the files in a folder. Once I had done that It came up with a list of folders.

I had figured that those folders were for dropping things into them such as Songs, images etc. I found putting music on there fine as well as images, but I'm having trouble putting videos and ringtones on there.

I tried pasting a ringtone in the ringtone folder and when I finished with it, it said that it doesn't work. I tried a number of times and I'm very confused. (They are all MP3 files by the way) With videos, it did the same thing. I think the format was wrong, but I would like to know how to do it properly.

When putting music on, I found out that there was 2 ways of doing it. Going through the program "Disc to Phone" or dropping songs into the MP3 folder. Whats the best way to do it?

Also when safely removing the data cable (right click on icon and safely remove it) I found out that the message on the phone does not go away when I safely removing it. I waited a few minutes just to see if it was loading, but the message still had on the phone, "Do not remove data cable".

After waiting a numerous number of minutes I decided to just remove the cable, and quickly on the phone it had said that it is now safe to remove the cable. Weird.

Thing is, I have always done it that way and thats probably why the ringtones don't work that I have tried to transfer over. But everything else seems to work. eg. Images, Songs for Walkman.

Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks,
