I just started to noticed something that happended recently with my phonebook contacts on my W800i.

I call a number from my contact it rings ok and the call is ok. When i hang up i noticed "0" appear on the screen. It asks if i wish to save the number to contacts (i have set it to "ask to save").

This happened to my boy-friend contact and i when i tried ringing, i couldnt hear any rings and it went to his voice-mail. I deleted his contact and added it back to my phonebook and works ok again.

The strange thing is why is this "0" suddenly appeared? I've checked the contact details and not seen an extra "0" anywhere. I thought the contact may have corrupted some how so have deleted the contact and added it again to my phone book. It did stop, but appears sometimes out of the blue. It's also happened on a few contacts as well.

Does anyone know what could be causing this?

Regards,

Is it a dodgy contact on your '0' key? Does it only happen to that contact after you call it, or is it doing it to other contacts, whether you've been in them or not?

It could be worth trying to update your firmware if you think it's a software issue.

@ Sammy_boy: No it happends when i finishing the call and hang up on most of my contacts now. I've only had the phone just over a month now had not exprierenced this problem before till it started about a week ago.

I also have one of those "slicon cases" on the fone so have took that off to see if that may be making the 0 key stick and tried calling again and hanging up and it still does the same thing. It's getting annoying now.

I've phoned my local SE repair centre and explained the suitation and they said that have not heard of this kind of problem before but it may be a S/W problem and can update it to the latest S/W version R1AA008. I currently have R1N035.

I'm gonna go there now and let them have a look at it and let you know what happens.

Regards,

Yes, be interesting to find out why that's doing that! I suspect it may be a firmware issue too, if not, perhaps something to do with the keypad pcb on the phone?

@ Sammy_boy: SE updated the S/W to the newest version and now that problem has stopped. So i guess it was a S/W problem that was causing it after all. Glad it was S/W rather than hard-ware as my phone would have be sent to SE main repair center and that would take around 3-4 weeks before i get it back from them! I couldn't live without my W800i for that long!

I lost my games, contacts, applications, settings ect in the process but i guess it was either stick to that annoying problem or get my S/W updated to see if it fix it. Hopefully nothing else will got wrong with with S/W or hard-ware (touch wood!)

How realiable is the R1AA008? Does it have less bugs than the R1N035? I haven't noticed any difference between the two S/W yet.

Regards,

I have a W800i that has the R1A firmware on it that used to be a K750i, no problems so far with the firmware. The only problem I've found is that you have to restart the phone to get it out of port h-free profile after plugging in the headphones, but that may just be because my phone used to be a K750i!

@ Sammy_boy: Ok. Well i've not had any problems with my HPM-70 and my phone does recoginses the ports-handsfree settings and return to normal profile when removed.

I know there was an issue with the R1N035 and the transfer of mp3's to phone using the Disc2phone software (which i was experiencing) where the mp3's become missing or not all mp3's where transferred after the phone was removed from the computer. Would the R1AA008 still have this bug or would the new S/W work better?

Not tried disc2phone with the w800, I tend to just use Explorer to transfer files, didn't have much luck getting disc2phone to talk to my w550i, so didn't bother again!

@ Sammy_boy: Yeah, thats what i did after i exprienced the "MP3 transfer bug" with the old software. I just plugged my phone in the computer using the USB and "drag and dropped" the MP3 directly into my MS Duo:\\music\\Artist's Name\\Album Title\\*.mp3's and it worked preferly. I will try using the Disc2phone software again and see if there is any improvements with the new S/W. [addsig]

I think the problem here is the phones hardware/keyboard. I think you right softkey represent both 0 and right solftkey at the sametime. Not so sure whats the cause.

My phone hard a similar problem after the service center opened the case. my joystick left was representing "." and Joystick down was represeting 4 while still going left and down.
