Hi Guys,

Just thought i would make a discussion here about siemens mobiles.

I've just been surfing around there website, and i just don't know what it is, but i just have never had the feeling of wanting one of there phones. No matter of the specs or the design, just a feeling deep down sumwhere saying...it's a siemens, and thereofre it will dissapoint me...even though their latest model announced has a 3.2 mp cam etc etc, i feel that it will just let me down...

It's a feeling i have always had with siemens phones and just wondered if i wasn't alone?

Anyone else get the feeling that siemens phones are just not appealing, or, you just aren't attracted to them?

What ya think?

I used to own an SL65 model . . . I like the size, smallest I had so far. The VGA camera works fine almost the same quality with that of the K700i. One of the things than really inspired me of getting that is the Formula1 McLaren Mercedes car being featured as it's screensaver (theme) . . . [addsig]

@aj - Well, actually I got it just by accident, it's not brand new (as always), because of the size and I haven't got me a Siemens for a while, or I guess it's my first one! I was worried a bit where to have the fone serviced if ever some things goes wrong (software etc.) . . . the fone lasted only a month in my hands.

@skrue - Well actually just for a change (same old s and Nokias), also, the Mercedes F1 car screensaver really attracted me in getting it mate. [addsig]

They use to make great, well built, fully featured phones a few years ago. But then they lost the plot and couldn't keep up with the market. Hopefully Benq can turn this around.

yeh it looks as if benq have told siemens to sort it out. The past 2 years i feel siemens have always been behind in specs and design, always the last to bring a feature to their phones which there rivals have had for ages.

But now, they have released there new 3.2 mp cam...smart move...

@jn, lol, that's a 1st. can't wait 2 see that screensaver, care to post it here?
i think the siemens phones look real good & great specs too. the reason i never bought a siemens is 'cause they r not very popular in my parts of the world, which translates into bad re-sale value & poor availability of accessories/service centres. [addsig]

@ayk - Sorry mate, as I just can't post how the F1 McLaren Mercedes screensaver looks like, the SL65 is no longer with me pal . . . I remember when I bought my T10s last 2000, that time, I am already seeing some Siemens fones being sold, very elegant in designs indeed. I am not sure though if they are the first who released the - MP3 fone feature Also at that time, Siemens was regarded as a tough fone, being a German made.

I'll just post a pic here - VGA camera:

Same here, i had a very old siemens phone, very basic model, but then was brainwashed as you said into purchasing k700i....the best swith ive made in a long time...now on my second se fone and planning my third.

Siemens look liek they are going forward with Benq...but does anybody else feel that siemens do not promote the phones very well? I rarely see a siemens model in my local orange/o2/ carephonewarehouse etc...

agreed?
