If you are making themes yourself, the program you are using should be able to open theme files anyway. What matters is if the phone recognize the files. If you are having problems with your os when uploading files, try one of the non-ericsson software listed in the FAQ to upload files to the phone. And please try to post theme questions in the theme category.
