I'm curious. What do you expect from a low-end phone in your country of residence (please mention where you live also)?
Price, features, etc.

Currently its the Nokia 1100, 15-20 pounds here in SA, but for me i expect a low end phone to have a std vga cam, 4000 colour screen, 10 mb internal mem... no mp3, polyphonic.... pretty much like a Sam e700 now would be considered a low end phone.

In India, mobile phone manufacturers r still wooing custmers with colour screen.people here want a colour screen, good looks, long battery life, large sms storage, scratch resistant body, basic calls and sms (no need of gprs) and a cheap price.
i saw an ad today of a moto colour screen phone for Rs 3000(around 70$).
T610 is still popular in India as its one of the cheapest, good looking camera phone and costs around Rs 6000-7000.

and yeah, people here in India use a phone for 2-5 years.
