I have been a great fan of my T68i, which is almost five years old. As I have
to use 3G roaming soon, I decided to buy the only Sony Ericsson I like -
K610i.

I bought the phone on the last day of April. I had heard that some people
who had the same phone were dissatisfied with it. But unfortunately all the
modern phones tend to "strike". But of course not all phones are faulty.

What can I say about K610i after having used it for a couple of days? The
sound quality is extremely good: clear and clean, also in 3G network. To be
honest, so far I have used 3G to do all my calls. At the beginning of two
calls I heard my own voice like echo but after some seconds everything was
OK. I would not classify it as a "phone mistake", because echoing has
occured with other phones as well. It also depens on the network and some other circumstances.

Also nothing serious happened when I adjusted my phone for several hours. Only some little mistakes:

* When I wanted to change one address in the webpage's list the text
"memory full, erase some fails" appeared on the screen. I quitted this menu
and tried again and then everything went smoothly.

* Changing or adding remarks the phone responds by saying "not stored",
although it stores nicely.

* Once, when I wanted to end a call and pressed the key, the keyboard was already locked. It has not happened any more.

* Once, after I finished a call, the phone made a little "notioce sound", a
polyphonic beep.

Let's see how the phone will continue working. Long before the purchase of
the phone I had decided that if the phone starts to strike, I will sell it cheaply and take back my old good T68i which has served me almost 5 years with no big problems.

By the way, my phone K610i has the latest software.

Does anyone have any comments about those little faults described above?

To Bobafett,

First, thank you for the last replies. But no, my K610i is not branded.

About my last post considering the faults. Actually two of them are not faults

* It seems that K610i always makes a very silent beep when call ends.

* About locked key during a call. Actually it did not lock during the call. The keylock works like on my T68i. When I receive a call while my keyboard is locked - then at the moment after I end the call the keyboard turns on again. When I start a call I have to first unlock the keyboard of course - so the keyboard will be locked some seconds after a call.

No complaints with my K610i too, still has the old R1CB001 firmware. Very reliable.

I want a black housing & keypad for it. Too bad k610im housings aren't available locally. I can't stand the white or red K610i housings

@CHILI: Have you already tried checking in Greenhills?

I need help from you guys! I just updated my unit to the R1JG001 software and it really sucks!!!

How can I bring it back to the old R1CB001?

@Bobbafett: I think you're the one most knowledgeable about this..can you help me on how to go about it? Any idea on how I can revert my phone to the old software?

Does anyone know the largest size memory card it will take?

How do I change the profile, so when the headset is plugged in, it automatically goes to handsfree mode, so I can take a call whilst listening to music?

Do you have a lot of contacts? For me that message usually means that the contact couldn't be stored *on the sim card*, and exists only in the phone's memory.

No, I have only 35 contacts with 55 numbers. My phone says "not stored" not in phone book menu, but only about remarks/notes (i'm not sure how it is translated in English language).

If I remember right, about first notes it said correctly "stored" and then something happened. But it seems that this is only a grammatical mistake, because it stores nicely I guess I can get used to this little weird issue.

Hi guys,

Complete noob here so apologies if this question is inappropriate or already answered. I can't find the answer in the included manual so I hope somone can help me.

I just got my blue Z610i today and I am loving it so far but theres an icon which I don't understand.

Next to the signal meter is a little light blue square with 3 dark blue concentric circles in it. Does anyone know what it means?

Thanks for any help.

(i tried to take a picture but it didn't work)
