Broken T39m |

Hi there! I just broke my T39m yesterday I'm very very sad about it. Ithe problem is the flip ofcourse. Everything else is OK and works fine. The flip itself is broken into many pieces and its nothing more than garbage. I still have the warranty but the physical damage is not covered ofcourse. I called SonyEricsson but noone was really able to help me out (which is really wierd). So now I'm thinking to get all the required stuff from gsmsquare.com and put it all together myself. First of all I have few questions though.
1) The contact where the microphone is connected inside the phone, is it easly disconnectable or is it soldered?
2) Is the microphone in T39 the same as in T28, since I cant find a mic specifically for T39 anywhere online.
3) The housing that I'm planning to buy from GSMSquare.com is an aftermarket one, made by some other company, not Ericsson. Has anyone tried those cases, and are they any good? Also, is the front of the case where it says "Ericsson" made of aluminum too, like the original ones?
4) Is it hard to open the flip to place the microphone inside or how to do it. I was only able to find the tutorial on how to open the phone itself, but not the flip.
5) Has anyone faced similar problem before and how did you deal with it. Is it possible to fix that kind of damage in home conditions at all?
Sorry for all those questions, but I really need this phone fixed and I also don't have much money since I'm a highschool student and every penny counts
Thanks in advance for any help!!! |

When you buy the flip, you get the mic as well, it's built into the flip. The cable is easy to remove.

Sorry to post on this thread, 1st time on was esato, couldn't find new thread. Weird problem: most of my phonebook has disappeared. However in status, it still says i have 230 numbers, and if I get a txt from an invisible number, their name still shows. Finally, all missing names seem to be showing as speech bubbles (like when you have recorded a name) but you can't call them. Heeelp!

Hey Cytech.
Are you sure that the housing sold at gsmsquare.com comes with the mic built in? If so it would be great!!!
Anyways, I sent the guy there an email with this question, so I'm hoping to hear from him soon.
I also called SonyEricsson service center here in Toronto. They said that it will cost me $150 canadian to fix it at their centre. That's crazy money for me (( |
