This is the fourth time my phone has messed up! To be fair the last three were random - I never dropped it etc.

This time, however, lets suppose, hyperthetically of course , that I... errm.. let my W800i take a nasty crash onto a hard floor from *cough* 6ft *cough* up. Yes...

Is this then why after trying everything - update, reboot, reset - that the camera just WILL NOT WORK?

You click on the icon, or open the shutter and it just freezes for a split second and shoots you back to the main menu.

New W800i time?

Cheers!

He has to lie, big time, to get a replacement under warranty.

If you dropped it, the small cable connecting the cam to the pcb could have simply loosened.

Just what I was going to suggest, I bet it's something to do with the cable to the camera, just probably needs putting back in or repositioning

Is that a hard thing to fix? Or would I need to send it away?

That would be my choice of reason to suggest to you.
Basically remove the battery cover, battery and sim.
Then remove the screws to the back cover.
You will see the camera and where the ribbon runs to the pcb. Follow it and locate the plug. Push the plug back onto the pcb and all should be fine.

Theres a guide to dismantling the W800 and K750 on se-nse. Have a look on there is your still stuck.

i would rather bring it to SE and have them replace it or at least do something to make it working again. my last resort would be probably fixing it by my self if the warranty is alsready void.

just a piece of advice....

Acctually, before i had the phone i really thought that it was a graet phone, now that i've got it...all i can say is that next time i hope that SE will wait untill there is ALMOST no bugs in the phone before releasing it... the phone have caused kinda much problems, now i wont get back my Memorystick because the postoffice has misplaced it.
But the phone is full of bugs eventhough many firmware has been released...
