Hi all
I have searching for a long time now for a solution to my problem on my K750i. I have also read many others in here with the exact same problem, so maybe this can help.
Problem:
When I put the memory card (original card 64MB) into the K750i it shuts down, and can not be turned on until I pull out the card again. I tried the newest software R1AA008 with no luck. I also noticed that when the card isn’t inserted and I push with one finger on the phone around the joystick, not on the joystick, it sometimes shuts down too.
Solution:
Unscrew the two screws behind the battery, and you can use your fingernail to clip front and back cover of, it’s very easy. Then remove the “keyboard” I don’t know the name of it, sorry. Underneath where the keyboard was sitting there is a black plastic fixture witch you also can remove. Now you’ll see a green cable attached to the display and lies on top of the memory card slot witch is a metal box. On my phone I found out that by touching gently the green cable it shorts to the metal box and the phone goes out every time I hit the same spot. I then put some regular sellotape, sticky-tape, hope you understand, on the metal box (Memory card slot) so that the green cable can’t touch it. Now it works 100%
Sorry for my English but I hope you understand my anyway…
Hope that this can help a lot of people in here.
Regards. Pizzatid

@pizza - Nice advise mate . . . but I guess that's a bit 'dangerous' move to do . . . are your keypads working normal after the alterations done? Btw, welcome to Esato pal !

Thanks JN.
You are right, there is a chance of messing up the phone if you are not extremely carefully. It is best if you can use some sort of an antistatic device for your arm wrist.
This phone is very serviceable only two screws and the rest is clips, the best I have seen from SE yet…
Yes my keypad are working 100%

@pizza - Despite that, members who will be having this kind of a problem can now follow the step-by-step procedure you posted above. I guess even technicians are NOT 'yet' fully aware of this 'alterations' . . . as they will surely resort with their 'usual' practice of 'software upgrades' when remedying troubles like this Good discovery though pal !

I agree with you but on second hand, as I read in a tread in here about a guy having same problem but his warranty was expired. So in that case I would give it a try. But yes, there still is a chance of caution serious damage to the phone:-( |
