After searching for info on the MA-620, I noticed that most of the posts were a couple of months old. I am thinking of buying an IR adaptor and would like to know what anyone would currently recommend.

I have seen the MA-620 priced around £40 on the web, is this a good price? Would you recommend it? Good points, bad points?

As you can see I have R2E006 SW, any compatability problems?

Any info would be very much appreciated.

I use an MA-620 for T68i, Nokia 8890, Nokia 8310, iPAQ 3970 and HP Jornada 568. Works great. I noticed, however, that downloading seems to be a little slower on the T68i compared to the Nokia phones.

I do not see any problems with it. The software that comes with it seems to be working OK especially the Handset Manager software.

I had a little trouble installing the drivers on Windows XP. It seems that despite the claim that the drivers are WinXP compatible, if you use the automatic installation, it just won't work. I installed the drivers MANUALLY on Windows XP.

To install manually, just open the system-hardware devices-usb device- then right click and install driver. Browse to the installation CD where the supposed WinXP drivers are located. WinXP will then prompt you that the driver you are installing did not pass Microsoft's Driver Signing. Just choose CONTINUE ANYWAY then the Ir should work.

After successfully installing the driver, your handset manager should work as well. Remember, you need to install the Handset Manager software for each type of mobile phone you have.

Hope this helps.

Cheers.

i got the Ma-620 its good but i prefer bluetooth but thats still to expencieve, you'll need to download extra softwear for there site because the T68i is not standerd softwear, i think i bought mine a month ago. but payed 50€!!!
With Ericsson and Nokia gone: we must keep their spirits alive and buy JOLLA or YOTA

Thank you all for the info so far - very helpful.

The cheapest I've found is £29.35 from here:

http://www.activemobiles.com/MA-620%20Infrared%20Port%20-%20Ericsson.htm

Or £29.99 from here:

I hope this is helpful in return.
