I just got a new K750 from someone on here, the odd thing with the phone is that I can send and receive text messages fine, but I cannot make or receive calls.
Does anyone know what is going on and how do I sort it?
Thanks in advance

check out your call barring settings. or maybe a master reset would do the trick??? if that doesn't help, maybe you should contact your service provider.

I tried the master reset and it did not work, there is a restrict calls option but it requires a passcode to change the settings which I do not know

hm... let's see... the password should be your sim card's password. If you have never changed it, the default one is 0000 (four zeros). try that. or why don't you contact the person whom you bought the phone from?good luck!

What network are you using? I suspect the phone is barred/blocked I'm afraid! If you're using Vodafone or T-Mobile, you can still send/recieve text messages but you can't make or recieve calls. If you have an Orange or O2 sim, try putting that in the phone. If it comes up with 'invalid mobile', 'sim error' or something like that, then I'm afraid the phone's been blocked, barred, blacklisted, basically reported as lost or stolen and the phone disabled.
Contact the person you bought it off, if it is blocked then I'd get a refund and send the phone back.

I am using a Vodafone SIM I tried my wife's sim and it says invalid SIM or something like that. So it sounds like it is barred. And I thought the guy I got it off was reliable! He is pretty well respected in the AtoZ

Sorry to hear that, I've had problems with barred phones before! Try contacting the seller, if he's a trusted seller he may be willing to give you a refund or do something about it. Some people here do a lot of buying and selling, perhaps this particular phone was traded by them in good faith.
If they don't reply or start making excuses, leave them a negative in the A to Z and explain exactly why.

That's good to hear, I suspect he got that phone in good faith not realising it was blocked or about to be blocked!
