I am currently with Vodafone using their "200 x-network plus 50 Texts" option, "Select GPRS" option. My bill normally comes to about £50.00

But

O2 are currently doing some pretty good Tariffs...

200 cross network minutes, 300 free texts, 2.00Mb GPRS and 300 minutes WAP, all for £30.00 ...and I'm really tempted! BUT customer services is 50p per minute!

Could someone with any expereince of both of these networks please give me their opinion and their experiences, both good and bad?!?!?!!?

Thanks

I am with o2 and have no compalints. Yeah we all know there customer service is shit.....but if u dont want to pay just email them! And anyway, how much would u ever need customer service anyway?

The tarrifs are great and i have heard the mms deals will also be as good. (Huge mb bundles for low prices)

My bills have been cut from £70 a month (on orange) to £17-£25 on o2.

I recommend them

edwardm... I am sure that it was not just a Promotion, but you can only get it with Voda 200 or above!

I would get back in touch, I think they're giving you duff info!

Yeah well that's not unusual! My name is a swear word at Voda!

My tariff should be ok - got voda reducer 300. Can't get it anymore as it's like 6 years old. They keep trying to make me change it but i only pay £9/month and the ones they want to put me on are twice the price.

Will phone the b*satrds when i'm in the mood for a good argument!

i have an o2 online account which is pretty good, i pay £25 line rental a month and get 200 texts free, 100 mins free and 200 wap mins free, i find it ok but when i first started i had problems, as i had an online account i had no one to talk to properly, only a premium rate number at 50p per min, but they did sort it out for me, and now all is ok, now if i have probelsm i e-mail em, now i just check my bills per month (normally about £30) and keeps track of my free mins and texts on the t68i call & sms counter, hope this helps you out,

Am I right in thinking voicemails are still a real problem on Voda and O2? A lot of my mates complain about getting notifications sometimes a week later to tell them they have a voicemail. For this reason alone I'd choose Orange or T-Mob. I'm on Orange at the moment, who I'm generally pretty happy with. And they will match any other tarriff. Guess it depends what network most of your mates use.

Yeah o2 are pathetic with their voicemail alerts. I have to check my vm every day, cos they never send me one. And email them? I cant find their email address on their website. If u have to pay for something, then u will find it on their website. If it is free, u wont find it. I only stick with them, cos i have the old genie tariff, and it gives me unlimited wap! Well thats what i think of them anyway! Chris

@Eric's Son

I am on the identical tariff on the same network as you and my bill is around £50 as well. I am pretty pleased with Vodafone and I think I will stick to them for the time being. I cannot see myself migrating over to O2 as my bills would be around the same amount but their coverage since taking over BTCellnet is CRAP. So Vodafone it is for me.

I agree that voda are much better than o2, especially the signal strength. But the old genie sim is still great with unlimited wap and up to 600 free texts, so im still using it :-D

i've got an old Genie payasugo which works wonders with free sms & wap.

only needed to call customer services twice since i've had it and pleased to say that on the second occasion it was to get my PUK number as my phone locked up and i was able to get this from the automated line out of hours....so thumbs up for o2.

I used to be on Vodafone, then genie (O2) but now with (O2) pre pay (Genie were sh**). Vodafone had best customer service for me, though getting them to cancel my contract was a bit annoying. O2 seem to take about 5 days to respond to an email.

If you are the type of person who phones customerservices a lot (for PUK etc) then go with Vodafone. For me O2 pre pay is best - £4.99 sim card, 300 free texts, 300 free wap minutes per month.
