i have looked through all the menus and cant turn this off, i have no need for this as when i am on wap i use GPRS and no1 i know has a video fone, except my G/F but she is on O2 and there 3G services aint in my area yet.

also could anyone advise on how to turn off area code info as i also cant find this. although i managed to turn it on.(this was with voda firmware before debranding and the area info still shows)

Any help and advice is much appreciated

Can't you just set prefered net GSM and if using GPRS use 3G (much faster wap)? And use GSM when normal phonecall but if you make or get videocall then use 3G? Or does the standby lose alot if you have it active at all?
