ask o2 to send u the right settings via sms or give them a call and let it set manually.

If you're on O2 pay as you go I don't think it supports the Mobileweb (mobile.o2.co.uk) settings I'm afraid, it only works with contract sims

That was same problem i had with Motorola SLVR on O2 payg. I'v been with O2 since it was 'Genie'. 6+yrs. I read a copy of a reply email off O2 that they WERE limiting acess to payg customers. So i took my new phone back and got a SE K750i on Orange

I've used one out the box(L6) with the standard settings on the official and unofficial java mini opera. That was a while ago and i don't have access to it anymore. All i can suggest is to try changing the payandgo data account from http to wml or the other way round. Failing that try proxy off both ways.

If you can take the fone back and get a SE or Nokia on Orange. If you can't, i would get the fone unlocked. But if you continue to use O2 4now, then use the same settings as your media messages. So your homepage becomes http://mmsc.mms.o2.co.uk:8002 you won't be able to load the homepage but you will be connected.

You're right you can't. I forgot the topic title by the time i started posting, sorry lol. I don't think i managed a connection with opera on o2 with my z600 either. I seem to remember that instant error message too, so you don't wanna be trying those settings. Works on vodafone if that's any consolation?

I had error msgs with all the applications that required connection, not just Opera. So i think its a combination of O2payg and Motorola that makes it so bad.

Sorry... 'motorola' - as in my experience, and similar post previous L6. . . . If you can get to O2's website via a pc. Theres a section about their 'New Mobile Web' listing compatable fones and a 'Get Set Up' section. (This is further on than the 'get settings' bit) it registers u and your fone, sets up an email and sends 'new' settings. U could give that a try.?
