Hi

I've got a Motorola SLVR on O2 pay monthly in the UK. The problem I'm having is that no Java apps (Opera Mini, Reporo) can access the internet. I don't have a problem with the browser that came with the phone, it's just the Java apps.

I say "Yes, ask once" when asked if the app can use the data network but to no avail.

Any ideas?

Sorted - I had the APN as web.o2.co.uk when it should have been mobile.o2.co.uk

this has been a problem since the first days of GPRS.

The networks have confused many customers by creating a segregation between wap services and internet services, even though both can be served by GPRS.

Unfortunately both require different settings to access them and unfortunately most operators provide the wap/gprs settings automatically but few provide the internet/gprs settings unless requested

This O2 issue is one of the most common asked ones that I can ever recall here on Esato, we must have literally more than a hundred threads requesting help for this same problem, so you'd think someone from O2 would have realised the issue and done something about providing all the neccessary settings automatically!
