ANyone know if Sony are planning to make a slide type phone like to rival the Samsung D500/600 models. I love Sony phones but i dig the slide phones i just wish Sony would bring one out. The W800/900 isnt nearly as effective IMO twisting it all the way round really isnt as simple and effective as a simple slide upwards.

What do people think should they make one ? More importantly are they making one ??

slider is a dangerous idea imo. nokia 6280 display is full with dust in ca 200 weeks, actually ca every second user blame cos it, as i have been told at nokia. imo the "normal" candybar or at least the swivel solution is the best.

why should it being a slider make it any more dusty than a swivel or other style?

as i wrote, i noticed it at 6280, which is a slider fone. even the nokia service team was amazed of that crap manufacturing, that at opening and closind the display the dust can get between screen and plexi.

Hmm.. But the samsung d500/600 don't have a similar problem i presume? Perhaps it's just the way the different manufacturers design the phone? They may both make slider phones, but the way they make it may lead to dust getting into one, but not the other. Do correct me if i'm wrong.

Obviously the 'automatic' swivel design of the W900 makes it a lot easier to open than the S700 was to open. Therefore imo its just as easy to swivel as it is to slide up on the D500/D600.
