A lot of business oriented people wont want a camera and people here have been saying that they want a featured phone like this without a camera as they cant take cameras where they work.

The style is too minimalist for my liking. The minimalism of the K750 is just right, the M600 is a little too bland for my liking. Still, phone functionality is the first priority, ergonomics second, and looks come third. The ergonomics of the M600 I expect will be pretty good.

Hopefully the qwerty kyb uses double sided keys and not double tap. If the former, then the keyboard will be easier to use than the smaller keys kyb of the P910. This will be a bonus for qwerty typing without the stylus. EDIT: just noticed in the high res photos the keys have raised outer edges, making it easier to rock the button (to get a "q" or "w" etc)

It has a menu wheel, and SE claim can be used with one hand (don't they always However there is no joystick or d-pad type control - meaning java apps may be difficult to navigate (and games a pain to play).

full touchscreen with handwriting recognition, and symbian app support (uiq3) makes it a credible smartphone. But even though it has full media format support, the micro card expansion means memory is limited unless you have 500+ dollars falling out of your pocket. With only 64MB card included many of these phones will never see much parrallel use an mp3 player. Many who want an mp3 player with their smartphone would be better off with the P990.

just because its UMTS/3G doesn't mean it has to be used for video calls.

3G is just higher bandwidth data, one use for which is video calling.

My jasJar had 3G but I never made a single video call but did use it for very fast browsing and emailing etc

Agree.
I have a E61, yet it does support video telephony albeit without my picture being sent. But I can get incoming video from the other party.

No WiFi support on M600? Duh whyyyyy?
E61 beats that thing K.O. already.

Though I like the looks of M600 too. Looks like a K750i family member

Great looking phone, cracking. Very nice list of features too, someone mentioned it could compete with the p990, tbh i don't know that it will. Its smaller, sleeker, and doesnt have a camera, its aimed at a slightly different market i reckon. Kind of a reduced fat pxx.

when I said compete I guess what I really meant was that people would have a hard time deciding between the two if they are in the market for an business phone.

Remember that the P series has always been marketed as such and now we have the M600 as a business device.

Sure, if a camera is a neccessity then the P990 will be the choice but there is so much overlap between these two that some people are going to have a tough time deciding and others will be dissapointed if they make the wrong choice

time will tell I suppose

strangely, the M600 doesn't appeal to me at all, whereas the P990 does

In many premises cameras are prohibited, and to that end, business phones without cameras are a must-have.

However M600 is not up-to-date with today's requirements for business phones. Too bad.

Note that the lack of WiFi also means that phone aint gonna be UMA capable either... (which does not mean WiFi phones are UMA capable)

Looks like the keyboard is using the strange T9 style typing I have on my blackberry phone. Its really odd to use beacuse its not quite T9 as you know it and its not qwerty, takes some getting used to I tell you.

it competes with the P990 in the sense that the P990 is the successor to the P910 which up to now has been SE's business phone. The P990 will remain useful to business, but the M600 will also address a business need. So they will compete with each other for the business market, although P990 will have broader appeal outside of the business market as well.

The blackberry and similar are popular because business users want access to their email without needing access to a computer. They also need push email to ensure they get their email with the same ease with which they get text messages. Research has shown that email is the thing that business users complain about the most with respect to pda's; that they don't handle email the way a mobile device should. This and also the fact many smartphones still don't display "normal" websites properly.

For this reason I think the M600 is designed to meet the need for full web access and push email that business users are asking for on their mobiles. This explains the inclusion of umts without a camera of anykind.

If that's the case, then I'm guessing the "m" stands for "Mobile", as in mobile email/mobile internet, or even m as in "eMail"

I like this phone, I can't say I don't. This is a perfect company phone for most companies.
The lack of WiFi makes me think we will see a M610 later for companies that needs WiFi and gives the chance for an new model ala Nokia...

Edit: Spelling =P
