viruses for mobile phones are generally small programs that execute code or content on your phone. they come in an extension .jar or . sis (for symbian devices) in general you should NEVER execute a program that is not trusted by you on your phone. i'ts just like a windows based system what comes with an extension .exe or .jar has the same results. so you're saying that the roumers about viruses that simply infect your phone through bluetooth it's all crap...right?

i've got symbian and every time i install a jar or sis on it it warns me tht the application is untrusted...so if i had to be carefull..it would be wuite inpossible, it would mean not to install anything on my phone...

i once installed a lot of programs in one evening and i think i've got a virus...i've had one on a nokia 7650 2 years ago and it didn't allow me to write letters..only numbers...i had to reset it's memory to get rid of it...hope i won't have to do the same now...

Which version of symbian do you have? AFAIK, there are no viri for UIQ devices in the wild yet.

Conflicting or malfunctioning applications can cause your phone to do strange things too, if you've installed a lot of applications recently, this is more likely to be the cause.

The rules for avoiding viri on smart phones is the same as for PCs. Don't accept or install any unsolicited files or applications, don't download and install files from 'dubious' looking websites!
