E guys look what I found:

http://www.t-mobileapps.com/tmobile/

This is the T-Mobiles web site for Developers.
If you look there you can find an SMS/EMS/MMS option!
What do you think that means?
I think the T-Mobile USA is working to offer an MMS servise accross the USA as soon as possible!
Dont forget alsmos all the T-Mobiles partners in Europe offer MMS services.
Its time for the USA now?
Lets see...

It's about time! But from what I've heard they will cost about $1 each and if it's like SMS that will be send OR receive. ONE DOLLAR EACH!!! At Cingular they said they are focusing on providing POP and MMS sometime early next year. Yes I know I am setting myself up for more ribbing from you guys but what the hell! We will catch up some day!

I think MMS will end up being more of a spam marketing tool than anything else... How often do you add color and formatting to your emails? Sending pics and sound recordings would be cool, though...

ROFL!

Who cares? How many people do you know in California that even have MMS capable phones? I only knew a few people that could handle EMS stuff, yet alone imagine MMS. You'd be the only one in Cali with an MMS capable phone

Hell, I haven't seen anyone in France with an MMS capable phone yet as well. So, I don't see MMS taking off so well, it'll just be stupid and crappy like EMS, wasting characters, and forcing you to enable long SMS to use and to pay extra money. (Yes, I know MMS uses GPRS, they should at least allow SMS/EMS to use GPRS as well).

Hmmm silly me, somehow I thought I'd be able to send MMS outside of California, to my friends in Europe.... Not true?

I have no idea if you'd be able to send MMS internationally. Knowing most providers, they will not allow this. SMS from Cingular barely goes through, as for T-Mobile, don't count on it, my friend can't send SMS or call internationally with them because it's not allowed (Even tells you that when you try). AT&T, I'm not sure about them.

But Take France for example, I can't recieve international SMS from anyone on prepaid unless I get a stupid contract from them.

But of course they are going to use MMS service to mass spam advertisments to people like they are doing now with SMS service ever since they started charging for incoming SMS. What a great way for these providers to make money. Not only do they get cash for spamming you, they also send you advertisments.

Also, take a look at the Theme's forum, many people requesting to send MMS to them, more than likely because there's no one with MMS around them

Not sure where you're getting your information, Deltayoda, but so far I've sent my heartbeat melody to about 15 different countries by SMS and haven't had a single problem yet...

Delta,

I think you are misinformed, my girlfriend, who live in Italy, and I (Dallas, TX) communicate via sms, its true that T-Mobile did not renew some of its sms agreements with certian providers. it took us a few tries to figure out which provider was compatible. In italy for example, Omnitel can send SMS messages and I receive them, but mine were not received by her. However, with TIM, we are able to send and receive with no problem.

Further, calling to italy is no problem whatsoever, you just need to tell T-Mobile you wnat international service on your phone.

Hope this is helpful

I agree with Delta, there are only a handful of us in the USA that care about MMS, EMS, or even SMS at this point. Its not a big deal here

@DaRtFrOg: Please refer to my posts in the following thread:

http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=10819&forum=31#post142497

The only addition I can make right now is that updates aren't supported ANYWHERE in North America, including Canada and Mexico. I am corresponding with SE about their official policy on this matter and Esato will soon soon make a formal announcement on the subject... Just hang on!

It's good to see more and more users form OC on the boards! And keep your BT on in case we run into each other, hehe.

I get my information from personal exprience.

Yes, I know Cingular allows you to send/recieve sms internationally (look at my ring tone post, I must have sent that walk tone to over 30 countries), but it doesn't always work and sometimes you have to send it twice or three times to get through (or change the # on the sms gateway, which can also help).

However with T-mobile, it doesn't work, send or recieve, unless you you pay them extra per a month. (Yes, I used/have T-mobile, and had to use a cingular pre-paid service to send/recieve sms internationally).
