r600 have a lot of bugs
- the games (the 4th game?)
- melody composer (playing too fast n too short)
- the battery (1 day if u use the red/orange color n gprs)
- sometimes it turns off by itself (when using gprs or calling)
- hard to turn on/off? (must to press very long)
- next call (call setting), show/hide my number, how to active it? (my card support it, it works in samsung n nokia)

i think we must complain to sonyericsson about this
that's why the price so cheap, i got $120
sonyericsson only think about the profit not the services
damn!!

mannnnnn, i rather buy t200 better than r600 it's only different $22
i didn't know the bugs at the 1st time i bought r600
we're all cheated

the good things from r600 : the cheapest phone with gprs

Go to your nearest ServicePoint and have the software upgraded. The standby time is worse on the R600 than the other SonyEricsson phones... (actually it isn't SonyEricsson that have made it). The backlight uses LED's and not the better backgroundlighting that T65, T39 etc. uses.

Regarding next call/show/hide number. You have to enter the number first...

I have had a r600, I swapped it after two weeks for a R380s Because it didnt live up to what was promised and was plain dull and too small for my fingers.

There isn't really many bugs in the phone

Firstly, the 4th game that is missing is due to a change in the software (which is the latest)
Only the older software has teh 4th game.

Secondly, all new phones comes with a new software that plays the melody very fast. (Applicable to both SE and Nokia)

I am not so sure about the rest of the things that you pointed out but my R600 is working perfectly fine with batt that can at least last me 2 days even if I'm on GPRS!

We did have a problem with the R600 here in Iceland.

If you typed an SMS containing the letter é or í I think I remember it correctly the SMS would not be readable in the receiving phone.

The problem with the backlight is the fact that you must go to Display > light and select either ON or Automatic. Many people select ON and then the color. That leaves the backlight on all the time and kills the battery.

These issues have been fixed and the R600 is probably one of the best cheap phone on the market today!

Battery lasts longer than a day. The color backlight thing does not affect how long the battery lasts. Try "Display sleep" setting and let the battery wear in.

There is a combination you can dial before the number if you're sure your card supports number-hiding. I would think it is your operator that doesn't fully support the mechanism where it tells the phone whether the feature is avaiable or not. I don't remember that combination now.

If your phones turns itself off you can get it checked and replaced.
