Has anyone else had any serious problems with the Nokia 8390? I recently replaced my aging old 5190 with the 8390. I've had it for about 5 weeks, and on Friday it started to exhibit some bizarre behavior:

-Startup logo changed from AT&T globe to Nokia handshake
-Phone now plays faint music when turned on (never did before)
-Phone turns itself off/on repeatedly, immediately after I actually turn the phone on.
-Phone vibrates every time ANY button is pressed.

I'll be receiving a replacement from AT&T in a few days, but I'd like to know if anyone else has had this problem. And no, I didn't do anything stupid to the phone. It hasn't been dropped. The battery's been very well-maintained with plenty of complete charges/discharges. I never popped out the SIM card.

Oddly enough, the problems seem to go away when I plug the phone into my charger, but they come back as soon as I remove the charger.

Thanks for any info.

My boss' brand new 8390 locks up all the time, like 3-5 times a day. It's a relatively new phone, so you have to expect some probs. Most phones are released with the expectation that the user is going to be the beta tester for about 6 months. You probably got a really bad phone though. Exchange your battery out, as well.

you shouldnt need a forum to tell you but heres some reassurance:

phones are not released to customers for beta testing, if it has the flaws you describe, its not funcioning as it should and you need to go get a refund end of story.

anything else that occurs from this point forward is your own fault for not returning it when you should have...so get back down the shops pronto.

Software Bugs!!!

Normal Nokia product have software bugs that is why they have a huge library of flash files for it. Return the phone and they immediately replace it with new one. This is very common in DCT-4 phones (6510, 8310, 7650, Asian version) specially in 8390 (8310).

If you drop this phone, they say goodbye.
