I know what the correct dimensions should be for wallpaper,
but my questions is;
Is it possible to get the wallpaper to properly fill the full screen, INCLUDING the menu buttons background at the bottom, and battery/signal monitor bar background at the top?
Thanks in advance  |

I'm pretty sure the answer to this one is no, not unless it is edited that way using theme creator or the theme is already produced like that!

In the K700 wallpapers are only 176 x176 - ie they don't cover the status bar etc. However in w800 and k750 the wallpaper takes up the whole available screen ie: 176x220

are you talking about a theme or wallpaper. If it's a theme it may just be designed that way. If it's a wallpaper are you sure the dimensions are right? My wallpapers go right to the bottom and top of the screen. You can see the status bar stuff etc, but the wallpaper is visible beneath that stuff.

i think it also depends upon the theme you are using. on the K750, the Wave theme allowed me to use fullscreen wallpapers but some other themes didn't. |

if the theme is designed with status bar etc inserts then they will obscure the wallpaper. If you open that theme in Theme Maker, you can remove the status bar inserts and add you own wallpaper as the standby desktop and navigation screen background graphic.

press the 'more' button when viewing your pic, select 'use as' then 'wallpaper'. It will then give the option of 'standard' or 'maximised'. select standard and the picture will not fill the screen but if you select maximised it will.
ps i am using the default w800 theme.

hmm interesting. K750 on R1Loo2 doesn't give the standard or maximised options. It applies the wallpaper as fullscreen without giving those options.

hmm that is interesting, my w800i (R1AA008 from O2) and my K600 from Orange both give that option.

excuse me to butt in.. about the option of Standard and Maximized, IMO if the wallpaper to be used is above the standard size (176x220) thats the time the phone will ask you if you are to use the standard (176x220 size) or the maximized (actual size).
ive tried setting up a wallpaper direct from the CAMERA folder and found out that i have that option.. (R1AA008)

looks like your right there rocky, ive just tried it out.
standard wallpaper size pics dont give the options they just fill the screen straight off.

yeah I just double checked. I also get the choice of standard etc when image is larger. If you choose maximised it covers whole screen but crops image, if in standard mode it shows the whole image, but also a black border depending on the shape of the image, and it doesn't cover the status bar etc. I never noticed this - all my wallpapers are 176x220 or less.
