Any ideas what the hell it can be, its annoying me that i have a 512 meg card and can hardly use it.
Thanks in advanced.

I've just formatted it now, do i disconnect and use the phone now so that the phoen creates the folders? Or start moving files into a new folder?
Thanks. |

what is your current firmware? if its R1N035, its a bug that comes along with that firmware... if you find time... try updating via SEUS 2. using the cable that comes with your phone.

Yes its R1N035, but i'm currently on Orange and the update is available yet.
I use a card reader but it doesnt seem to like using the adaptor with it. |

yes.. from what ive heard.. its hard to use PRO sticks on a card reader... only SONY card readers can handle it... or maybe youre lucky enuff to find one that can handle MSD PRO...

Any others? |

Have you seen this thread MS Duo corruption problem with R1N035 or this thread Fix solution for MS Duo corruption problem with R1N035? I also have R1N035 on my W800 and originally had a big problem with this, however have you tried to change the properties on your computer in device manager / disk drives / sony ericsson memory stick to 'optimize for performance'? Then after you transfer files over you need to close down any window that is open and then click on 'safely remove hardware' icon in the system tray before pulling the USB cable out. I changed my properties to this, and although sometimes a couple of mp3's are missing, generally on the whole the files copy across ok.
Have a look in the K750/W800 Firmware Overview Thread and scroll down to R1N035 to find out more workaround solutions.
Hey, this hasnt worked for everyone though, some people find that the only way is using a card reader.
For me personally, i now use the card reader on my HP printer to copy music/vids/themes... everything for that matter... over to my memory card. A lot less hassle for me. The USB cable supplied with my W800 barely gets used now
Hope you find a workaround to suit you - and be patient - you will find a solution in the end

Had this problem too with my 2 GB MS PD card!
And I tried EVERYTHING and must have tried to transfer MP3s 20-30 times, and they all ended just the way you describe!
But, then I tried to give up on my planned folder system
I re-formatted the Memory Stick for the 31 time (on the phone, so I got the correct folders on the card)
I then decided just to transfer the MP3s to the \"MP3\" folder in the root of the Memory Stick - and Bingo! It worked!
One of my co-mate had the same problem transferring MP3s to his new 1 GB card.
I told him to do it like this, and Bingo! Worked too :-)
So, when transferring MP3s, don't try to place them in some fancy folder (ie. like one folder for each artist).
Just place them all in the MP3-folder of the root of the MS.
Then, when transferred, you can without trouble move the MP3s to a sub-folder of your Sound-folder...

Well i moved around 30 mp3s all ok, tried creating folders to put them in and started to move the files into the folders and it said the file was currupted and couldnt move them.
What should i format it to? FAT32 or FAT?
I'm actually thinking about flashing it to non branded f/w now so i get rid of the bug unless orange pull their finger out. |

Updated to 008 and i still got the problem
Also, do you format the car using the option on the phone itself or using the Windows version? |
