Is anyone aware of a java video player for the W800i that supports pause? Currently, you can't watch a movie in full screen and pause the position using the internal video playback. Thanks in advance. |

Yes, you can pause it but if you try to go back to the main screen you will lose the 'index' (pause)

Well I am pretty sure I can ffwd and rwd here in the media player of a k750i running R1AA008, even in Full-screen mode. Thing is you just don't have any visual feedback of the time-code in full-screen and pressing the joystick one way or the other just doesn't give you any feedback. Other than that it works...-as advertised. |

I am trying to pause and FFWd in my k750i and the only function apparent in the player is Stop.
The +/- rocker adjusts sound when pressed briefly and has no effect with a long press (such as changes radio stations).
Pressing the 5-way down has the same effect as the left-hand function button, triggering the Stop command.
Tilting the 5-way has no visible effect and the timecode at the top of the screen continues to increment.
From a posting I found about the later phones, I don't hold much hope, from a Sony Dev Support person:

" I totally understand your point of wiev.
I have no idea if there is a java player that can pause and fast forward, you can search the internet and see if there is one.
This is a known problem and this will probably be in later models but I I don't think that there will be a firmware update including new video player features for the W950.

In order for you to access the ffwd and rwd features of the media player you need to playback the video files through the media player itself as opposed to using the file browser>video etc... |

Yes you can fast forward rewind etc. all you have to do is go to the walkman application (walkman button) and go to Videos. Then go options and view fullscreen. You can now fast forward and rewind just like you do with songs

I have a k800i and i have this problem, the video plays fine but it doesnt pause it only stops, which is frustrating if you want to watch a whole movie. because you have to start it from the top every time and with no fast foward or rewind it. |

Here is a minimal video player designed for the sony-ericsson phone. It supports replay, pause, resume, fast forward, fast backward, on screen display and screen rotation. It's free and open source, so everyone can enhance it: Atomic Player
