I am using a MSI BToes Bluetooth dongle with MyPhoneExplorer. The maximum speed I've achieved so far is about 30kBps (and varies between 25 ~ 30 when transferring). The specification says it supports up to 90kBps. Why am I getting 1/3 of the rated speed? I downloaded the latest BT drivers from MSI site, no difference.

Maximum speed depends on both devices.

Normally transfering to the phone maxi should be around 45kbs.

When I transfer to my phone W800 it range between 37 and 45.

I think the phone is slowing everything down, because even the usb is slow.

But according to the usb 2.0 specifiations it should be really fast.

What are you using to transfer files ? at least 45 is better than 25~30

As far as I know K750 supports Bluetooth version 2.0 which has a theoretical speed of 3MBits/s, however in reality I don’t think the phone can go anywhere near those speeds, but since it supports version 2 it should at least be able to work with the maximum rate of 1.2 which is 723KBits/s (90KBps), don't you think ?

I prefer to use the dongle cos its easier to use than the cable, therefore it would be a grate help if someone can tell me a way to boost my speeds to around 70~80KBps.

No... the speed you'll get via BT is, as stated, around 40-45 KB/s...

The white paper of K750 states it has a BT transfer rate of max 600 Kbps (75 kb/s). However, due to overhead in the transfer protocol, interference and distance between devices, 45-50 kb/s is more realistic as max transfer rate.

According to this thread, some are getting better speeds than 45~50. mario2002 claims he can get 70KBps with BT 1.1/1.2 compatible dongle.

To my knowledge mario2002 has no K750. He prefers Nokias and the S60 OS. If you connect K750 to a BT 2.0 dongle, you may of course get better speed than if connected to a 1.1/1.2 dongle. But I doubt you can come up tp 70 kb/s (seeing is believing - so go and buy a BT 2.0 dongle ). Also, it seem transfer to/from MS is faster than transfer to/from K750 internal memory, at least through USB (possibly its same with BT).

I managed to improve my speeds to around 40~46KBps by upgrading Bluetooth drivers. The latest BToes driver (as MSI calls it) is actually based on Widcomm 4.0.1.2101 BT driver. Then I found out that there is a newer version 5.0.1.802, so I downloaded and after meddling with the patch files I finally managed to get it working with the MSI dongle. And it is lot faster than what I had before.

However now there is an even newer version : 5.0.1.1200 but it seems there is no working patch for it yet
