Hi
I have the ImTOO mpeg encoder and was wondering what settings i need to use in order to convert files so that they play on my phone. I tired converting an episode of family guy and transferred it to my phone when complete. However, it played the first few seconds then it started skipping/lagging and the sound was also doing the same thing, so i deleted it. Anyone know what settings i need to use or point me to a page which has settings, cheers.

Settings I use for .3gp video format on a W800:

Video size = 176 x 144
Bitrate (video) = 96 kbps
Framerate = 25
Audio codec = AAC
Bitrate (audio) = 56 kbps
Frequency (audio) = 22050 KHz

All videos encoded with these settings seem to do fine.

you should try and get hold of something a bit better like mpegable x4live or nero recode, so much better quality. I use video bitrate 192kbps, audio (aac) 96kbps and a frequency of 44000khz, with a framerate of 20fps. The phone is much more capable than a video rate of 96kbps

@justy Yeah those are the exact settings i use, although i dont see the need to encode the audio @ 128kbps as it only makes the file size bigger for a minimal difference in sound quality. 96kbps is good enough. Thanks for the clip though, i'll check that out later

Hey
Iv downloaded mpegable, but everytime i add a file, it crashes saying it has encountered a problem and then just closes down. tried re installing it but the same thing happens. Any ideas?? also, are there any other decent encoders apart from mpegable and nero recode? cheers

@davv33 what files are you converting from? ive had problems using imtoo if I convert from a raw mpeg file. other formats seem to work ok though. very strange.
