Sony Ericsson w550i and Motorola HS850 headset
I have recently purchased (via Orange UK), a new Sony Ericsson w550i. Once of the key feature I would like to make use of, is the Bluetooth facility – so that I can connect my Motorola HS850 headset and use the phone hands free.
I am able to pair the two items together successfully, but I don’t seem to have the full functionality of the headset - as I had with my previous phone.
When I receive an incoming call, I am able to hear an alert in the earpiece. I am also able to answer the call, using the button on the earpiece – but that is as far as it goes. It seems that the neither microphone, or the speaker seems to work
I see similar results for outbound calls. I am able to activate the “Voice Dial” via the button on the earpiece, but again – that’s as far as I get. Again – no microphone or speaker.
My wife has also purchased a Sony Ericsson phone, but her phone is the w800i. When I attempt to connect the earpiece to her phone, I see the same – other than the microphone seems to work – strange!!
Although the earpiece wasn’t purchased together with the phones, it is only about 3 months old, and works perfectly with other phones.
As yet, I haven’t been able to test any other Bluetooth headsets with these phones
I have seen nothing to suggest the combination shouldn't work - I have even found instructions on the Motorola site on have to pair the two together, inferring that Motorola support the combination – rather than just for their phones.
For information the firmware version of the w500i is. R4AB048 and for the w800i it is R1N035
Can anyone offer any further ideas or assistance? |
