The special edition doesnt have any other features,...there isnt really that many features to pick from, hehe.
It works just like the original.
You could call it "retro/old style",..as it looks a bit like the first Spoon shown.

Jawbone-model is of course being worked on,..but theres no release-dates for it yet.
The Bluespoon thats out now is already very good in sound-quality.
Actually the best, according to a big head-to-head test

£200 for a handsfree???

i'm into gadgets but paying more than £100 for the novelty of having no wire on your headset is a little excessive...especially when faced with having a lump of plastic on your ear.

the only one i came close to buying was the HBH-20

How come I can get this Blue(UGLY)spoon in a few days but I have to wait 45 days for the better looking Bluespoon when I order it from Expansys? "Special Edition" should be called "Special Ed..." because if you think I am going to fall for your marketing tricks, you should be in special education. The manufacturing costs on that Special Edition must be a lot lower. HMMMM.

Looks like they are producing the special edition because the other bluespoon needs to be painted which is a very long/complicated (pricy?) process unlike the special edition which is plastic blue.
I received the special edition few days ago and I am very happy with it.

IPXpert > You´re missing the point,...theres no cheap tricks here !!

The BLUE Bluespoon is called Special Edition, because the first Bluespoon ever shown was BLUE,...theres nothing more to it.
The name refers to the original prototype BS.

And yes,..the special edition doesnt have the unique painting method (time-consuming) as the normal spoon have,..so therefore its faster to produce...but the costs are not that different.

Regards

Jan

I do wish you would have spent more time focusing on producing the standard Bluespoon "that in my humble opinion is better looking" so I could actually get one here in the states in a reasonable amount of time.

Thank You (the silver-blue-black Bluespoon is the design I did)

I can asure You that we have been focusing on the "real" Bluespoon,..and for a very long time too,..we havent been focusing on anything else, to be honest

Bluespoon has just been introduced,...and Nextlink is not a huge corporation with unlimited production-power,..so we simply havent been able to produce a huge amount of spoons at the current moment.
We´ve had very limited time to produce the real ones in this "start-up-phaze".
Production keeps getting bigger day by day...and Spoons are being shipped on a daily basis.

Another reason is of course the very long list of preorders, they have to get their Bluespoons first.

And as I also told earlier, we havent been able to get all the materials for production in time,..it was simply delayed,..nothing we nor anyone else could do about that...unfortunately. Now we´re getting materials on a daily basis too.

Once we could see just how popular Bluespoon would be, we wanted to produce a lot more units pr day,..and we would love to be able to have it out all over the world at the same time,..but its simply not possible (in production-terms we´re unfortunately not the size of e.g. Nokia or SE).

Its always easy to "look back" and say, we should have seen it coming,...actually we did,..but because of the circumstances stated above, we still got delayed.
There is always a "what if",..and you can do all sorts of mathemathical calculations on what you should do,...but as we all know, things usually never goes the way you actually plan.
All mobile devices and accessories are delayed,..we know that from e.g. SE, Nokia and all the rest.
First they arrive in limitied numbers,..and then as production progresses, larger numbers of units are shipped.

As a result of these different things and the popularity, Bluespoon production will also be going on at our partners company in Japan.
They have a bigger production unit.

Bluespoon will be available in the US ...it will actually be on the Comdex Show in Las Vegas here in November.
I will actually be in the US at that time too

Regards
