I've been hearing about this mobile technology for sometime now,i've even covered the subject in THIS and THIS thread.Well now it seems like we will finally see VibeTonz take off this year with the first VibeTonz enabled phone from Samsung due to hit the market very soon.
For those who don't know what VibeTonz is,its an embedded technology that enables a mobile handset to produce a huge range of 'vibro-tactile' sensations. Or in other words, you'll feel as well as hear. So, mobile gamers can experience the recoil of gunshots or the jolt of a punch, messaging could be personalised with vibration based heartbeats and ringtones can give users the physical sensation of drum breaks and basslines.

lol i wouldn't say it's like a PS2 controller (since it's Nintendo who kind of got the vibration feature started) because this is more than just vibration.

And what will VibeTonz do for the battery life on your phone? Have to say it's cool idea though but right now I think mp3 ringtones is enough for me.
