I wonder if it makes sense to try teaching the T9 predictive text input's dictionary to the language that I use for SMS, while my T68mi phone has T9 only in English. Any opinions, experiences? How big is the dictionary's free memory that can be used for new words? Is it possible to delete new (or original) words from the dictionary? Thanks!

Do you mind me asking WHY you would want to do that?
There are different T9-languages available in different SW.
I previously had a German SW on my fone which included german, french and english T9.
Now I've had my phone reprogrammed to Swedish, Norwegian, finnish and english T9.
I'm convinced there must be a version with Hungarian too?

I don't think you can add many words before the phone starts to erase the previous entered word. Maybe around 100?

It's not possible to erase previous enterd words. Old words will be erased when the 100? limit is reached.

If it was possible, you would have to do a lot of typing if you wanted to teach the phone your language. The english dictionary uses around 10K of memory. My guess is that the dictionary is compressed and that will force you to enter over 120.000 (60.000 char. for a English dict. * average 2 key press per char.) characters to complete a dictionary.

Thanks floke, that looks like a good idea. So I go to the SE service point, and ask for a language switch. BTW a few days ago I upgraded to the latest phone software, but the language options (including T9) remained exactly the same. I suppose changing the language is a flash operation separate from the overall software update. Is this true?

if it was the same as before the flashing it means you got the same language version in the upgrade... the changing of language is not a separate thing from ordinary flash... just to update the phone with another language version of the firmware

Then may be there is no Hungarian T9 for the T68. The menu has Hungarian (but I don't need it), while no Hungarian T9 (currently) in my phone. Anyway, I should ask the service guys. Thanks for the comments!

Jelenleg Ericssonokban nincs magyar T9-es.
Bizonyos Nokiákban, és Siemensekben van.

Currenctly no Hungarian T9 available for T68i.
However it's present in some Nokias, and Siemenses.
