According to Sunday Times the controversy over the mis-leading marketing of the Crazy Frog ringtone has badly damaged this formerly fast growing segment of the ringtones market.

Who are "they" and why should it be banned? Its not breaking any laws, its not breaking any monopoly rules, its not in breach of copyright, why should it be banned? The creators certainly are not going to remove it while its making money, thats just wishful thinking.

LOL@ batesie...I never got why anyone would be stupid to pay for a ringtone, especially polyphonic when they sound so crap.

good one batesie! I've never understood either. Bloody waste of money.

In that article the ringtone companies are saying "they got wise that they can send stop to cease the subscription" (or something like that). Well DUH!! What, they hoped that people wouldn't find out? Sheesh

I've delt with the companies that provide ringtone services. Most are just opportunistic scumbags exploiting an emerging market. The bubble was going to burst sometime.

Never have understood why people pay for polyphonic ringtones, themes , screensavers etc. When theres plenty of good sites to get content at for free. As to the crazy frog just shows how truly stupid people are to buy such annoying rubbish.
