n91 will be huge apparently. Got a W900 in black and would advise anyone to get it. Especially good if you have large hands.
Apparently it has just been released on o2, although I heard the the uk networks (apart from voda) are getting it on 31st jan.

Thanks for your quick reply.
I am upgrading from a v800...
and did have the w900 white one (colour was awful)
didnt feel the upgrade was that much better in terms of new features (besides the 470mb internal memory)
w900 109 x 49 x 24 mm 148 g
N91 113.1 x 55.2 x 22 mm 160 g
v800 102 x 49 x 24 mm 128g
do you know if o2 are doing it direct?
where did you gets yours from if you dont mind me asking?> |

Sorry but I don't know if O2 are doing it direct. I bought mine from here Esato! But it was originally bought from SE direct in Bahrain I believe.
So IMO (and what I was going to do before I bought this one) wait for either O2 to get it (best service provider IMO) or buy it simfree from the Carphone Warehouse when they get black ones.
p.s. so your on Voda and have already upgraded to the W900 and have sold it? Does that mean that simply buying it simfree would not be a problem?

well as soon as voda got them in december i got one upgraded, i was assured it would be black. and it wasnt. affter much much much hassle they gave in to a goodwill gesture and said they didnt know when they would get a black one..the deal i got was pretty good, the phone was free on a 12month contract!
ive been with voda now over 12 months, switched from tmobile...must say when it comes to CS voda are just ...crap!
i suppose i dont mind waiting, i just feel these latest generation from SE, arent great leaps in technology!
yeah the w900 was nice, but i didnt feel it was "great" a feeling i got with all my previous SE phones z600/v800
many thanks once again |

So you took the upgrade and continued with your contract for another 12 months, correct? Then did you sell the W900? Or have you decided not to upgrade, meaning you have an upgrade in the bag! This means that you cannot upgrade again until next december and to get a new phone you would either have to buy it simfree and just the handset only, or get a new contract.
If you are not happy wait until March when atleast two new models are expected to be released. (W810 and P990)

I asked in 2 shops, and they said no sign of it on their coming soon sheets. They did say 'Helen' was on their lists!
I can't find it on their website either!

well i took the upgrade out on the basis on it was a black phone, so when they couldnt satisfty this, the upgrade was cancelled, they got their phone back, so i can upgrade from voda now if i wanted to...
dont really want to buy the phone sim free, so im just waiting till o2/voda have it..then i;ll take it from there¬! |

Well I have heard from O2 that they will be getting it soon (Feb). Also the Carphone Warehouse will have it on all other networks at the end of Jan, in black.
So you still have an upgrade in hand. IMO Voda will probabely not get the black one and will only sell the white one. Whereas like I said above other networks should be getting it soon. Although I believe this could be a repeat of the S700. Remember Voda initially got it and they even advertised it to a certain extent. O2 got it sometime last year, very late and T-Mobile and Orange etc never even got it. So I believe that the only to get this in black on the network you want will be through the Carphone Warehouse, and apparently (although I'm not 100% sure) you can upgrade your contracts from any network provider (even if you got it from the actual network providers shop) in the Carphone Warehouse. But not online ones obviously.

I saw the phone in FHM two days before my contract expired and jumped on the internet (always dangerous). This was on...er..10th December. Hardly any places had them but first one to come up was buymobilephones.net . I looked up some reviews and the company seemed to be rated so I entered all me details on (sat afternoon) including pac number to port across to a uk O2 contract. I then got an email back saying they were closed and would do the credit checks/process order on monday. 9:20am on monday and a simple email comes through saying the order has been dispatched and be with me next day. It then arrived by fed ex at 8:30 the next morning! 5 Days later the phone number switched over as well. Very very slick service and so far, cannot fault them....
Oh, and the phone is the absolute nuts!
