FastPort - pull up or down to disconnect? |

I'm just wondering if it matters in which direction I pull the FastPort connector to remove it from phone. I read somewhere that it's supposed to be upwards, but there's the rubber cover in the way (W900i), so I'm pulling it down. |

The proper way of removing the Fast Port plug is illustrated in the manual.
I don't ever recall it being illustrated as you described. Reviewing the manuals that came with the K750 and W800, it also shows that you should pull it straight out.

Ive always pulled mine downwards when taking it out of my W800, pulling it upwards feels like it'll snap or damage the pins on the connector. If theres a rubber cover in the way on the W900 i wouldnt imagine it'll be best to pull it out that way |

here is the pic from the manual. looks like its suggesting you should simply pull away from the bottom of the phone but as I haven't got a w900 I can't say any more than that

Yeah I saw that picture in manual too, but this is the most difficult way to remove the connector. |

i tilt up usually
just like i did since the t68
if i pull straight out, it's hard and feels like i'm going to break it

Bend it a little upwards (or downwards might be even better) and it is out!

any of you guys heard of an SE phone breaking up its fast port connector...
just wondering how durable it is... coz if it breaks youll definitely hafta pay big for repairs... coz its the primary connection to your phone... power, data and stuff...

This is the response I received from SE in relation to removing the connector from the W800.
"Dear Sir or Madam,
Thank you for contacting the Sony Ericsson Call Center.
In regards to your inquiry, the fast port connector can be pulled straight out or you can tilt to remove. Either one of these ways will work to remove the cable from the handset. We suggest using the way that is eaisest for you.
Best Regards,
Jordan Brennan
