K750i puzzler for you - Failing Calls |

OK, gonna be a bit of a long post but here goes.
I bought a K750i Sim free and put my old sim card into it.
Ever since then i have had problems!
When i am in certain places (home, footy match, leeds city centre) i cannot make or recieve calls! but i can send and receive messages!? but when i am in other places, i can use my phone as normal.
I contacted vodafone and they told me that as my sim card was 6 years old (yes 6) the software on it was out of date (bit of a crap excuse i thought) so i was told to buy another and get my number transferred over. All of which i did but i still encounter the same problem!
I have emailed vodafone a few times and they have replied back with "there is nothing wrong on the network or your account" and they also gave me a few things to try, like deselecting network and selecting one manually, and also doing a hard reset. but yet again i still have the same problem. Vodafone says it cannot be a problem with my phone because i wouldnt be able to make calls at all.
I have no call restrictions or barring set up, i have cancelled them all in the setting to make sure.
So....I ask has anyone encountered this problem and does anyone know how to fix it?
It may come down to sending my phone back to amazon which I dont care about but I want it to be a last resort!!
Thanks

A better description of the failing call:
I select a number from my phone book/type one in
Press call
All is quiet for about 10 seconds
I hear the tone to say a call has ended.
And when people ring me it is just quiet at their end! ive had my phone near the speakers and when someone try ring me, the speakers make that sound they do when your phone is near it, as if someone is ringing you. but the phone never rings.
Also forgot to say i have tried the sim card in another phone and it works fine.
I have also tried the update service too but with no luck! |

Have you tried a SIM from another network?
Vodafone didn't exchange your SIM for free and you're stil with them?!?

Ok im annoyed now.
Vodafone insist there is nothing wrong.
I have sent my phone back to the service centre and they sent it back saying it had been repaired.
But i still have the same problem!!!!

hi,
this sounds like a network problem rather than a handset problem. reason being is that if it was a handset problem, you wouldn't be able to call out and you have tried another sim in it and it works fine. so it is not the handset.
did you say you bought a new vf sim for your number? so they have attached this new sim to your number? as it does sound like a sim fault to me. have you tried a sim in another handset at all and see if the problem continues?
let me know about the above!
