Hi people! I had K700i and I decided to give it to my sister as a chrismas gift. fortunately enough I bought another K700i later. strangely my previous K700i was able to change mp3 tracks to ringtones but this one cant!!!!!!!!
but there is mp3 track which can be played as ringtones made by sony ericsson as an artist. have been looking the difference on these track which accept to be and those which does not. Here are the difference: mp3 made by SE when you go to track information it has the following:
ACTIVATION STATUS: ACTIVATED
FILE TYPE: MP3
ARTIST: SE
DISTRIBUTIUON: UNLIMITED

The infor of my mp3[the one I converted myself from cd]:
FILE TYPE: MP3
DISTRIBUTION: UNLIMITED
[as long as these infor are concerned, the difference are that of ACTIVATION STATUS: ACTIVATED. The mp3 which refuses to be ringtone has no ACTIVATION STATUS: ACTIVATED. well, as you bring all these two mp3 type in PC AND GO DIRECTLY TO PROPERTIES the difference appear follows:
THE TRACK WHICH ACCEPT TO PLAY AS RINGTONES IS DCF file format but the one which refuse is not of that format. The Questions are DCF file format has something do with this?? how about ACTIVATION STATUS: ACTIVATED, has it also something to do with this problem? is it a firmware problem? the phone is from vodafone. Please help. in addition the track which can be changed to play as ringtones has a key symbol before the name but those which does not plays as a ringtones does not have!!!!!! any Idea, I'm stuck.
