Got an idea for a wap file sender that u send file url,s to an email. But with a storage folder to store file urls so u can click the one u want rather than writing it in manualy. Any wap site makers want to have a go doin it?

so basically it would just end up being a database of links, like a search engine?

er not realy mate it would be like an online storage place for file urls. usualy when i swop stuff with people i do it by pop3 i save stuff i find and save to my phone but it takes ages to send large files so i thought having wap site to send the urls u want takes just seconds to send do u know what a file/attatchment sender is?

So you want a wap site where you can upload files. Then be able to send the urls to instead of sending the file itself.
So you will need a pc version of the site where users can upload their files.
Sound like a good Idea I could to it but I only have 50MB web space.
Please confirm if this is what you really want. |

Its not realy an uploader its to send files that are already present on wap sites u put the file url in and send it and it transforms the link into an actual attatchment i can put up some links to show u the sort of idea i mean

So you put any URL. And this wap site must download the file from where ever and then send it via e-mail? |

i think what hes trying to say is:
send email over pop3
wants to add an attachment but doesnt want to have to download it from the site only to use more bandwidth sending the file.
so instead he wants to send the URL for the file as an attachment?

heres an hungarian site which has the sort idea im after http://www.intrex.hu/norbii/eng/downloads.php of course you woud need to personalise it and be able to put your own file links in..heres a file sender to send files http://celkawap666.srv.hu/wb.php?q=http://celkawap666.srv.hu/wb.php?q=http://wap.port.su/gallery/files/4157/farting-monkeys.3gp (the file at the end can be changed to the one you want) you could bookmark a series of these like this http://favormark.com/file.send (just an example ) but its not as quick or efficient as the 1st hungarian link i put up

Ya I get the idea, its good.
Okay I haven't done a webpage that downloads the file from other websites but that should be easy.
The only thing is that you your page won't give you any response until it finish downloading and sending the file on the server.
Anyway I am going to start looking into doing this website.
I will keep you posted ! |

Eish people I'm currently having some technical problems.
My w800i died last weekend. it getting fixed as soon as its ready I will conitnue with the development.
Actual the file download occurs in the server side you don't see it on your phone / browser.
It should be fine the webservers have a lot of bandw.
I wrote the code to get the file I just need to send the file and then put a nice user interface.
