i am new 2 this site .need some advice dudes.which is the best fone , sam d500 or se w550.
my requirements:1.good camera
2.excellent sound
3.mp3
4.voice qlty.
5.trendy design
6.memory

GO FOR THE W550
ALL THE REQUIREMENTS YOU NEED ARE PROVIDED.
BUT IF YOU WANT A FULLY EXCELLENT CAMERA, THEN GO FOR THE w800i or w900i.
D500 is poor compared to  the W-seriers
you should have read full reviews dude  |

oh ok i got what you mean, i thought you where talking abou tthe d500.
yes it is the camera, and the video quality, plus the expansion of memory

well the w550 is cheap compared to the w800 and w900 because the lack of memory card slot and 2 mega-p camera. but it has a 256mb memory which gives you more than 30 songs, enough i think. |

30 songs on 256mb?? way more than that. even if they are around 5mb each you could have over 40 songs and if you compress them then you could get loads. i would deffo get the w800 or 900 if you can afford it or if not the w550

but if you have a low budget, then w550 is the best choice. |

@chaitanya, welcome to esato
D500 is a nice looking phone, but then so is the w550. Something that hasn't been mentioned yet is that the D500 is last years technology.
Another thing to consider would be ease of use. Although the D500's user inteface is ok the w550 UI will be far better.
There are too many pluses with the models, the larger memory, the walkman branding, a more intuitive UI and so on.

the d500 has a more "conservative" look, while the w550 has a "provocative" look.
UI-wise, i think the w550 is better, i find samsung UIs to be not-so-intuitive.
if you want a classy phone, go for the d500. but if you're a music lover, go for the w550. it even has a special plug where you can use even better headsets with the phone, or you could plug it straight into your house speaker and hear it play music!

With the W550 you can change the fascia, and you get an extra one with it in the box. (You cant do this with the D500)
You get those really good fontopia earphone with the W550, but you dont with the D500.
The W550 has 256MB internal memory, the D500 has only 80MB. (Neither phone has expandable memory).
The W550 comes with a USB cable in the box. The D500 does not.
The W550 is a walkman, the D500 is not.
Above all else, the W550 is SE. The D500 is not.
Go for the W550 my friend

@tanya - I'll GO for the Samsung D500 here. Ideal mostly if you are a female, sleek design . . . Adding a liitile more amount then better GO for the D600, much better! Good luck !
