British Airways & Qantas have allowed me to use my mobile phone in flight-mode on previous flights, but I know that some airlines don't allow this.

In January (3rd) I will be flying to America with Virgin Airlines, but I don't know whether or not they allow flight mode, or any other electrical equipment for that matter.

I know that there is already a thread for airlines that don't accept mobile phones even with flight mode, but I have read it through twice, forward& backwards and there is no mention of virgin and I thought i'd get a more direct answer here.

Has anyone used their phone with flight mode on a virgin plane? I have rang their customer services, their flight rep at the airport i'm flying from and none of them know what flight mode is, and all I get is "you can't make calls when you're on a plane..." and "...using your phone on a plane will intefere with the transmitters that communicate with Air Traffic Control Systems" etc.

Anyone have an answer?

@Jordan

Merry Christmas.

I would recommend that you telephone the airline and ask them diectly.

Was the other thread closed? If not you could have just posted in there.

I have tried calling the airline directly, I got put through to their rep at manchester airport and they didnt have a clue what they were talking about.

I would have posted it in the other thread, but it kinda died and I thought people wouldn't pay attention to it.
