Does anybody else with a W800 or W900 experience a whistling sound when using the phone whilst it is charging? Its very high pitched and quiet but it annoys me. When it's in standby it is totally silent, it's just when you come to use it.

I e-mailed SE and they want the WHOLE PHONE sending back!? I don't think so!

ps the noise comes from the charger not the phone.

I tried my W800i, and I don't hear any kind of whistling sound when making a call while charging. I suggest having your charger replaced instead of sending the whole package back. They can always test the charger before replacing it.

They said in their reply that the whole thing should go back! Phone, charger, box....... Might just go and buy a new charger!

I would do the same if I was in the same situation. I wouldn't want to go thru all that just to hear them say what we already know.

mine has no whistling sound
maybe easiest thing to do would be to get a charger for a few quid from ebay
used to have a nokia charger that whistled
swaped the charger and it was fine alot easier than being without phone sending back for probably 2 weeks for them to give u a new charger

I phoned up Vodafone, and because they have none of these chargers in stock, they have credited my account so I can go and buy a new one myself for £19.99!

Very good customer service, very friendly!

My K750i charger whistles as well, i just got it as well - i remember there was a recall with the T610 chargers a while ago, does anyone here reckon it is the same problem all over again?

Mine whistles aswell! It's only the charger though not the phone and I only noticed it when the phone was almost completely full. I don't think it's a big deal as the phone charges correctly

It's just a bit annoying depending on where you want to charge your phone (i.e. at night). Vodafone were quite happy to replace it FOC though.

Might be worth giving the company that sold it to you a ring. I keep my whistling one as a spare for work.

Why would the charger whistle though, is it trying to tell you the battery is fully charged or is it a fault?
