On the right side of the phone (On the middle frame bit) behind the sim holder, you will see a little square, i just found out that is what the officals use to check weather the phone has had water damage. I didnt know this and i found it intresting. |

Yes if it have contact with damp it will turn pink/red |

tht is found almost all device which have risk of market claim due to user drop the device into water.
a way to protect the manufacturer....cause no user will admit they drop their phone into water when they try to claim a new phone  |

A lot of phones have them on the pcb where you cant normally see it.

Good to know.... now I can paste a water resistant tape over it, so if I get it wet I can claim warranty  |

lol i know about this, you can find this on lots of phones etc, also some websites will sell these pads, i even have a few on my desk

is it blue to start off with? sounds like blue cobalt chloride paper to me, we use it at school. Water turns it from blue to pink

i think it depends...some of those paper turn red when expose to water
this is not limited to SE....majority of consumer electronics have this...i amnot suprise one day when you claim a digital camera...the service guy tell you he know why it fail |
