is there any way to check what cell id your phone is on? there is a program for symbian phones called cell track but is there any app for w800? or does the w800 has a netmonitor like nokia phones?

As far as I know there's nothing outside of a Smartphone that can read cell ID's. Only progs like MiniGPS and Sman, and CellTrack for Nokia Symbians am I aware of.

I think there is a short code request if you're on Vodafone, so regardless of your handset?

You can bring up cell info of a sort on Voda, but it's just the dialling code (e.g. 0115) of the area you're in, not the specific cell. On O2 it will bring up the four local dialling codes, and that's it. Don't think the other networks have even that capacity!
