w800 MP3 playback Vs PSP |

I know that there have been other posts on this subject.
So the PSP requires MP3s to be in
\PSP\MUSIC
The w800 searchs
\MSSEMC\Media files\audio
and
\MP3
Has anyone else contacted SE about getting the firmware changed so that the w800 also searches \PSP\MUSIC?

hes not the only one who wants that.
i would love to be able to have the music files both in the same folder so i could play them on both.
possiable, you could put them in PSP/music then put a shortcut to each MP3 in the other folder - ya get what i mean? IDK if it will work, but worth a try... |

No. Windows shortcuts aren't recognised by the phone or PSP.
Of course you can copy them, that's not the point. I want to be able to use the same memory card in both devices to Play MP3s without having to use a PC to copy them. |

The same goes to photos and videos Sony should make the PSP file system compatible with SE phones and Sony Cameras, its absolutely logic!!

I haven't tried it on the PSP, so probably won't work. I'll check tonight, if someone here doesn't beat me to it.
But I tried out disc2phone with my K750 and it made a new folder on the MS called \music which is where it stored the mp3's. It maybe that the PSP can see this folder. |

In case you missed it. A PSP is not a phone and a phone is not a PSP so it is perfectly logical that Sony does not have the file structure system the same on both devices. |

yes... but having the ability to use the Mem Stick universally might be the deciding factor for many people...
Sony Should have thought of this... |

I am quite sure Sony did think of this but did not think it was worth the trouble or time to do it.

I'm not sure what sort of "trouble" it would have involved other than adding another folder into a search path.
My son found this issue very strange too when setting up his PSP as he shares the same 1gb memory stick with his K750.
saw the error in their ways in the P800 and provided direct access to photos created by Sony digital cameras when they released the P900, and it makes perfect sense to provide cross platform compatibility in these days of multi media popularity
