I was just looking on Sony Ericsson japan site www.sonyericsson.co.jp and it made me wonder why isnt there more talked about sonyericsson japan phones here on esato? Some of those phones are quite nice and I would probably get myself one if I will have change to. I want to see more about these phones here and I also think there should be made avatars for them.
What do you think?

we have had plenty of threads about japan phones and threads from many people who would like them to come to Europe in GSM form. Tis was especially the case with the SO505i just before the S700 was announced
I guess though that there are very, very few Japanese members and perhaps just a handful who have Japanese phones

im sure people only want to talk about phones they know are coming out in their country soon and i guess japan is just too advanced for some countys. i dont really care about the phones there. i just care about the new releases here in the uk

as i see, the only reason to choose such a fone is only the design, we dont know anything besides some facts written on the web. but if those are worth to use, who knows?

its possible to buy the occassional japanese phone on Esato and occasionaly on ebay too. I have seen them here and there.
I cannot answer for why there are no japan avatars as I have little or no input into site issues and development except to make the occasional suggestion. I'm just a mere moderator

Esato just hasn't enough Japanese members for them gather around and discuss the Japanese handsets such as a Premini. It would be interesting though. We just need to recruit more japanese members. Its not as if a lot of them don't know English.

Also I hope laffen reads my post and gives me the reason why the japan phones arent listed on http://www.esato.com/phones/ and why there aren't japan avatars...

Hi!
" Ill try to get my hands on one japan SonyEricsson phone. But does anyone know if they are only in japanese or if it's possible to change the languages to something else, maby english? "
I am using a 802se and can send sms in Japanese and English. Menu's are switchable as are the writing menu's. The phones menu's language can be English, Spanish, Portuguese or Japanese. Input languages are the same.
But be clear, even if your phone is unlocked, you will not be able to use all of the Japanese functions.
Also it is important to note that the majority of Japanese phones do not work outside of Japan, just as GSM phones do not work inside Japan.
" Also I hope laffen reads my post and gives me the reason why the japan phones arent listed on http://www.esato.com/phones/ and why there aren't japan avatars... "
If Esato had many Japanese members, then yes, OK, lets get Japanese avatars. Most of my Japanese friends do not use phones that can be used outside of Japan.
I got a few beers inside me so enough for now!! :-0

yes I understand that not all the features will work.
It's great that it's possible to have the phone in english
What system do some japan mobile phones use if they dont work with gsm? nmt?
About the avatars it's maby right that there are few japan users here but as esato a sony ericsson community I think all sony ericsson phones should be listed, and in http://www.esato.com/phones/ there are listed some strange phones like Tel.Me which I have never heard about before but not all phones are listed? how wired is that not all phones listed in an community
btw. Ofiaich. I won't recommend computes+alcohol . I have bad experience of that

PDC Personal Digital Cellular is a TDMA-based Japanese standard operating in the 800 and 1500 MHz bands.
There are many sites discussisng these frequencies. Here is one of them!
