This sounds bizzarre but an Italian network has won the right to distribute feature films on mobilephones just 10 days after they premiere in theaters.
cinematical
The company will be working with Eagle Pictures, a distributor of movies, on the service. It isn’t a happy partnership, though. After signing the deal, Eagle tried to back out after learning how soon Hutchinson wanted to make the films available. Hutchinson went to court and the agreement was enforced, despite the obvious anger of theater owners. Memoirs of a Geisha will be the next available film on December 27.

How much will they charge? And how much would you have to pay for 40MB download, cause I guess it'll be available only through GPRS?

Thats a seperate issure altogether really,...picture quality on phones for movies will never be brilliant but watchable..and thats the whole idea behind it..Don't know how they will manage the whole rights issue though?...who gonna stop people from downloading to phones and then transfering to DVD.

That is another good idea. Also cellphones made for this purpose with big screen, good resolution and more battery storage will be on demand. They will all have mutual cuts. Roll the world.:-)
