In Nigeria, claims of a plot to extend President Olusegun Obasanjo's tenure have refused to die, and may result in low attendance at a meeting of Southern leaders holding today in Enugu, the Enugu State capital.

@Felucci: How can you start a new topic just to post a thesis on an issue that does not have a global appeal? you'd have been better off posting it in the proudly Nigeria forum where about 200 Nigerians actually visit daily.

Thanks for you response. i guess i just carried away by nigerian politics which can be very intoxicating and addictive too for those who care to be interested. But as a Nigerian and a youth too, my heart burns within me when i just sit down and look at the dishonour with which our leaders act especially when in power. Although the south has agreed to stick together for a continuation of power, Obasanjo should act honourably and not take undue advantage of the situation, because as the man of God did say, we have more than 1001 Nigerians capable of becoming President. Let another southerner take power in 2007 please.
