Theres a sort of purple coating on my W800i cam lens/lens cover, I cleaned the camera with a ear bud and a bit of lens cleaner and the purple layer has just sotr of wiped out in some spots. Will this effect camera performance, can I re-layer this in a cam shop, Normal cameras too have this layering, no idea what it does.

It could be (i dont know for sure) a Infra-red filter. This helps to reduce the amount of infra-red radiation that gets to the receiver. The only way to see if it affects the pictures is to try it.
