Need help form some one from Singapore (Singtel) |

I bought my K750 from Singapore through a friend of mine. He said that he bought the phone brand new from a cell phone shop; all the accessories and phone were sealed when I got the box so it seems brand new to me as well, however there was a SinTel label pasted on the side of the phone. Singtel is a Singapore base mobile service provider, right? (Sorry I am not from Singapore). Could it be that the shop sold him a locked Singtel phone after unlocking??
I am asking this because I am planning to update the phone to the latest firmware version R1AA008 once the update service comes back online. But I am afraid that this might lock it to Singtel (assuming it was locked in the first place). Does SingTel lock phones? Could some one from Singapore help me with this ? Thanks.

Yes singtel is a carrier in Singapore .. Am bit surprised as ive not seen a network branded phone in Singapore .. Just seen unlocked / unbranded phones. Hmm not sure what it would do if you upgrade the software .. Think if its unlocked you shouldnt have any problem doing a software upgrade.. I dont live in Singapore tho do go there every few months to visit friends.. Soz cant be more help.. |

The label was actually a small sicker pasted on the side of the phone (next to the mem stick slot), came off very easily. It is not like those Vodafone logos which are printed on the phone.
There are no special menus or functions specific to SingTel in the phone nor any leaflets / manuals with SingTel branding inside the box. The only thing that made me bit worried is that small SingTel sticker... |

Ahh.. Ok.. Sounds more like an ad for the shop where it was purchased at .. Have you tried your sim in it.? Sounds like a unbranded/unlocked k750i .. Some of the shops get them that way ... Upgrading software shouldnt hurt it any.. |

Ok thanks. Then I’ll update once the service comes back online. I’ve been using the phone without any problems for about a month now with a different service provider. The phone is not locked right now, but I thought maybe it might get locked if I update. Thanks again guys, I’ll post here if I run in to trouble while updating. |
